When Mark came to us in 2019, he was in the process of opening a restaurant in Starkville, MS – 1883 Smokehouse. He needed a website to promote the new business and IT services to help manage his Clover System orders, online and in person. We presented him with a plan to build a WordPress site with the option of taking online orders.
The project involved:
- Purchasing him a new domain name
- Building a WordPress site on FGEN IT’s dedicated server
- Developing a custom website base on the current logo
- Analyzing the business to determine appropriate content
- Writing new content
- Collecting and presenting new images and content
- Configuring Clover to take online orders
- Managing the in-restaurant Clover system

During and after the project, FGEN IT supported the 1883 Smokehouse with IT recommendations, email management, and business decisions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, FGEN IT reworked the site and helped the company go to an all-online ordering system that allowed the restaurant to stay open
As of 2022, 1883 Smokehouse closed its restaurant.

In 2020, FGEN IT redesigned the website using Astra and Elementor. In 2021, when 1883 Smokehouse transitioned completely to a food truck, FGEN IT updated the site to help communicate the truck’s locations to their loyal clients.
